The concept of sub-independence is defined in terms of the convolution of the distributions of random variables, providing a stronger sense of dissociation between random variables than that of uncorrelatedness. If statistical tests reject independence but not lack of correlation, a model with sub-independent components can be appropriate to determine the distribution of the sum of the random variables. This monograph presents most of the important classical results in probability and statistics based on the concept of sub-independence. This concept is much weaker than that of independence and yet can replace independence in most limit theorems as well as well-known results in probability and statistics. This monograph, the first of its kind on the concept of sub-independence, should appeal to researchers in applied sciences where the lack of independence of the uncorrelated random variables may be apparent but the distribution of their sum may not be tractable.

What a debut! Don't get over the HUMP, get into it."Douglas Kearney "Vidhu Aggarwal poet of the pineal gland. He then proceeds to prove irresistibly that this is so.The earliest readings of the sleeping brain, captured by EEGs in the 1930s, revealed that sleep is as active and lively as its daytime counterpart, not simply a passive state that naturally ensues when wakefulness ceases.Rausing was profoundly affected by the beauty and isolation of the forests, the rocky coastline that marked the border with the West and was off limits during the Soviet period, and the trials of a people who enjoyed just nineteen years of independence in four centuries. In his most famous role, he would command the Arab Liberation Army in the Arab-Israeli war of 1948.In this well-crafted, definitive biography, Laila Parsons tells Qawuqji's dramatic story and sets it in the full context of his turbulent times. The book focuses on 26 unexpected but crucial words in Rilke's writings that reveal Rilke's poetic method, his obsessions and concerns, and his deepest thoughts on life, art, politics, sexuality, and death. These poems burn with gloriously wry disdain at the abundance of chinoiserie tinging modernist lineages of geopolitically "western" poetic traditions.
